It’s a baseball game gang!

Hey Wizard, here’s hoping the Prez comes up with a field for us this week. The Risers are up for a night game this week, how about you?!

If we don’t get a game, great way to finish the season on a winning note. It helps to win when we score more than 4 runs in a game. I think it’s pretty safe to say we probably set a league record for triples in one game on Saturday. We had 5 vs the Dragons. That’s on top of the one triple by Speegle vs the Cannons.

Well, here’s to hoping for good news finding a field this week!

No word from the higher ups yet whether our game w/the Risers is re -scheduled. I’m thinking it should be. There are just too many games that were rained out on Sunday not to make them up.

In the meantime, don’t forget to bring the good bats this weekend. You know, the one’s with all the hits in them.

Oh, by the way Coach, I’m itching to pitch!

Good thing it’s August. My wood bat is in a trash can at Whitman Middle School. Maybe I’ll go get me a new one. Had I a fancy smart phone like Mr. Knott… I would be posting it’s picture here on this site this very moment. The red tape and the red #5 surrounded by gatorade bottle. It brings a tear to my eye.

Regardless, we all need to bring our best bats against the Titans on Saturday. Last year we had a big weekend at this time of year. We took one from the Cannons in the bottom of the ninth at Russel Road in Kent, and nearly followed that up with a second upset in one night vs the Rainiers.

On Sunday, I think we owe the Risers a little beat down.

Hey Wizards, we’ve got 7 games left. If we play solid games like we did this weekend, limiting mistakes and hitting well, there’s a very good shot we can reach .500 on the season. We’ve played all the tougher teams in the league already and except for the Titans and Cannons, we’re playing teams in the lower half of the standings.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s just play solid baseball one game at a time. The standings will take care of themselves if we do that.

We do need to work on reducing the number of walks we give up. Last week vs the Jays we allowed 15 baserunners on 3 hits. That’s 12 free passes.

Anyone besides me love the whole wood bat thing?

Coming into the 2nd half of the season we’re coming off one of the better weekends of Wizard baseball. A win vs the Dragons and a tough loss to the Bears were a big step in the right direction.

It’s time for some winning baseball. 2 wins this weekend will go a long way to getting us out of the basement. Let’s go Wizards!
